Organic Cannabis & Vegetables

Company:
QTC

This was my first time growing cannabis since first coming to Oregon. I planted this in my vegetable garden. In that garden I strategically placed 4 AgroSonics units spaced at about 12 feet from one another and 6 feet from each of three cannabis plants. I have spent most of my years in the tropics, and I am new to temperate farming. So this is my first garden in a cooler climate. It was on soil which was under evergreen trees which were cut down. In order to balance the ph, I added 50 lbs of oyster shell, and tilled it into the virgin soil. And that is all I did for the vegetable garden area soil the whole season.

Originally I planted 3 cannabis clones about 12 feet apart on the eastern edge of the garden. But I made the mistake of planting the two indica plants in early April. These were hit by frost twice, but survived and recovered well. I planted the sativa clone in the last week of April. I didn't know about the effect of having less than 12 hours of sunlight would cause early flowering. The two indica plants went into flowering. I was able to successfully get one to go back to a vegetative stage, and the third had to be pulled because it turned hermaphrodite from the stress. So the outcome of the indica plant was severely stunted in it's overall growth. But the end product in both was wonderful and was able to make a substantial amount of medicinal oil and rubbing alcohol.

The vegetable garden was plentiful, low maintenance and produced food all summer long. We had no pest or disease issues for the whole season and the vegetables were outstanding in flavor.

Approach of installation:

Create a beautiful garden to eat out of all summer, growing a wide variety of plants to see how healthy they could grow using Agrosonics. I evenly placed the units at appoximately 12 feet in the middle of all the plants with the sound emitter facing the cannabis plants.

Observations:

The garden quickly became like a jungle and the plants developed quickly. The sound was actually pleasant and hardly noticable from my nearby bedroom window.
